Classes for Age 5 to Adult
Winter 2026 Session
Storybook Theatre Kids, Ages 5–7, Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30pm
Young performers will explore the magic of theatre through imaginative play, storytelling, movement, and beginner acting skills. Using familiar stories and creative games, students will learn how to bring characters to life while building confidence and working as a team. Throughout the session, the class will also create simple props and costume pieces to use in a short, narrated showcase for families on the final day. No experience or special clothing required.

Broadway Bootcamp, Ages 8-12, Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30pm
Broadway Bootcamp introduces students to the essential elements of musical theatre like acting, singing, and dancing, through a collection of scenes, songs, and simple choreography. Students will create a mini Broadway Revue showcase for parents featuring selections from classic and contemporary shows on the final day. No experience or special clothing is required.

Teen Actors Studio, Ages 13-18, Thursdays 7:00-9:00pm
What are the vital tools for success needed to “break out of your box” and confidently showcase your ability to play a range of characters at auditions, callbacks and in all of your performances? This class is designed for teen actors eager for individualized feedback and training, who will be given the tools every actor needs to build their confidence and raise their acting and audition skills to the next level. Students in this teen acting studio will build, sharpen and showcase their acting skills through challenging acting training in monologue and scene work.

Needham Community Theatre Acting Workshop for Adults, Ages 18+, Tuesdays, 7:00-9:30pm
Fran Weinberg, a Needham resident and veteran acting coach, teacher and award-winning director is offering an acting workshop for adults. This workshop will cover all aspects of scene study. Actors will stretch their acting skills and explore the tools needed to understand a scene, build a character and bring a scene to life. All levels of acting experience are welcome.

Fall 2025 Session
Class registration is through the Needham Park and Recreation website. NCT wants these classes to be available for all, so needs-based scholarships are available for those with financial hardship.
Broadway Boot Camp, Ages 8-12, Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30pm
Instructor: Lisa Kelleher
Students will learn the three elements of musical theater: acting, singing, and dancing. They will explore scenes and songs from a variety of musicals, from classic hits to new ones. In addition, we will create props and scenery which will all come together in a showcase on the last day of class. No experience or special clothing needed.
October 8 – December 10 (no classes November 19 and 26)

Theater Fun, Ages 5-7, Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30pm
Instructor: Lisa Kelleher
Students will learn elemental acting and scene work skills, creating props and scenery to put together a little showcase on the last day of class. The show may consist of a student-created script or scenes put together from fairytales, stories and current entertainment. No experience or special clothing required.

This workshop will cover how to approach a character, a monologue, a scene, and tips for callbacks and cold readings. Actors will have an opportunity to stretch their acting skills and sharpen their tools for success in auditions. All levels of acting experience are welcome.
