Needham Community Theatre is committed to social justice and the elimination of racism and all prejudice. To spark awareness, discussion, and action in our community, we are presenting a series of plays with anti-racism themes. We hope you join us in this important endeavor.

Our first in the series, presented in collaboration with A Common Thread Theatre Company, were three short plays by Idris Goodwin, directed by Jaimee Banks.

Nothing Rhymes With Juneteenth

JEAN - Reggie Joseph
PETRA (PETE) - Kailee Williams

Pete, the Kid, is in the creative mood and seeks guidance from Jean, the parent.

#Matter

KIM – Pier Lamia Porter
COLE – Joseph Dreeszen

An in-person conversation between two estranged friends after a social media “incident”.

The Water Gun Song

SAM - Kailee Williams
JULES - Jeanette Lake

A conversation between a parent and child about why certain things are off limits in the household.

With these performances, we are supporting Youth Enrichment Services (yeskids.org), a nonprofit which provides affordable and impactful sports-based youth development and leadership programming for low-to-moderate income kids in the Boston neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury, and Mattapan.  A donation can be given here:   http://bit.ly/yesdonation
