This introduction to theater class will cover all basic aspects of theater: basic terminology, stage direction, set design, and scene work. Students will present the results of their efforts during the last week of class in a short showcase production.

Acting, Movement and Music
This class will review the basic aspects of theater: basic terminology, stage direction, set design, and scene work. In addition, students will learn how to integrate movement and music into their scene work, as a preparation for stage work in musical theater or straight theater. Students will present the results of their efforts the last week of class in a short showcase production. No prior theater experience necessary.
Broadway to Needham
Students will learn songs from a variety of Broadway musicals, adding choreography and staging. Class culminates in a short showcase production, including solo, duet and group numbers.

Acting Toolbox for Teens
Students will be introduced to the core set of tools needed to approach a monologue or scene and specific techniques to improve individual acting skills. They will also learn how to be successful scene partners.
