Audition Information for our 2010 production of

Jekyll & Hyde

Performance Dates

November 19,20,21, 27, 28

NOTE: No final casting decisions will be made until Monday August 30 at the earliest. Auditioners will be contacted with casting decisions on Monday and Tuesday.

Brief Synopsis:  A musical recounting of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale of good and evil.

Rehearsals Days: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday (with additional days during tech week)

Auditions will take place at Needham Presbyterian Church, 1458 Great Plain Ave, Needham, MA. The church is on the corner of Great Plain and Central Avenues. Please park in the Newman Elementary School parking lot (1155 Central Avenue).

Audition information:

In order to handle auditons efficiently, we schedule groups of 5 to 10 auditioners at a time. So
Auditions are by appointment only and are open only to adults (18 and older).
Please email  info@needhamtheatre.org  for an appointment, indicating your preference for day (Weds Aug 25 or Thurs 26). At this point almost all audition slots are filled, after which we will start a waiting list, but if you are interested in auditioning, please do apply for a slot.

For those auditioning for a named role: Please prepare 32 measures of a song from Jekyll & Hyde or written by Wildhorn.  We are as interested in how well you "act" your song as we are in your ability to sing it.  Please be prepared to show us a real character in your vocal audition.  Additionally, please prepare 32 measures of any other song should the directing team request to hear more.  Also please bring music for an accompanist, preferably photocopied in a binder.  Readings from the script will be done at callbacks. Sheet music to Jekyll and Hyde is available for purchase online at various sites, including MusicNotes.com. (NCT has no affiliation with MusicNotes, the link is provided as a convenience.)

For those auditioning for ensemble only: You are encouraged to prepare a song as listed above, however any 32 bars that shows off your best ability will be acceptable.

Dance auditions will take place at 10am on Saturday for all those interested in the Red Rat Girls. If you are interested in these roles, please attend this session in addition to your vocal audition. Please come dressed in dance attire with character shoes or heels  - no sneakers, flip flops, or bare feet. This is not a required session for other roles, though some auditioners may be asked to attend as a part of callbacks.
